24th seed Frances Tiafoe put on a superb display of power snd and athleticism to dump favourite Rafa Nadal out of the 2022 US Open on Arthur Ashe.

The Spanish great who had won two of the first three grand slams this year – Australian and French came up against o fired up Tiafoe with the American winning in four sets 6-4 4-6 6-4 6-3 to move on to the quarter finals.

The defeat sees Nadal lose a grand slam match for the first time since his defeat to Novak Djokovic in the final of the 2021 French Open.
