Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been offered the job to replace Rafael Benitez as the manager of Everton.
This was following final interviews conducted on Friday night for Frank Lampard, Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson – all three were in contention for the job.
Wayne Rooney was also linked for the job but ruled himself out as he prefers to focus on the job at hand with Derby County.
Vitor Pereira was initially the front runner and prefered candidate of the owner of the club but following protests by fans against his appointment the Board has gone for Frank Lampard.
Lampard guided Chelsea to fourth place and the final of the FA cup final in his first season in charge before a poor run of form saw him ultimately sacked by Roman Abramovich in January, 2021.
