Top seed Daniil Medvedev produced a convincing display as he overpowered Stefanos Tsitsipas 7-6(7-5) 4-6 6-4 6-1 en route to his second straight Australian Open final.
In what was a repeat of last year’s semi final contest in Melbourne which Daniil Medvedev won in straight sets, the Greek produced a mini fight back in the second set but was ultimately despatched in four sets by the dominant Russian.
Daniil Medvedev heads into the final against Rafael Nadal on Sunday hoping to go one step further after falling short against Novak Djokovic in 2021 and ultimately win consecutive Grand Slam titles following his victory at Flushing Meadows.
